日前，《北京市招生考试委员会关于北京市2020年普通高等学校招生考试安排与录取工作方案的通知》发布。2020年北京高考将于6月7日至10日举行。今年新高考科目由原本的文理分科变成“3+3选考”模式，考试时间也由2天变成4天。

Beijing students will take gaokao, or the national college entrance exam, for four days from June 7 to 10 this year, the city's education authority said Sunday.

北京市教育部门周日发布通知称，2020年北京高考将于6月7日至10日举行，高考时间共计4天。

【讲解】

the national college entrance exam是高考。
依据考试安排，6月7日和8日为统一高考，考试科目为语文（Chinese）、数学（mathematics）、外语3门科目，每科满分150分。值得一提的是，统考外语听力考试（foreign language listening test）与笔试（written examination）分离，取听力最高成绩与笔试成绩一同组成外语科目成绩，计入高考总分。
6月9日至10日为学业水平等级性考试，考试科目为思想政治（politics）、历史（history）、地理（geography）、物理（physics）、化学（chemistry）、生物（biology）6门，考生自主选择3门（choose to take three of the six subjects），不分文理科（arts and science）。选考科目成绩折算后计入高考总分，每科目满分100分。
北京市从2017年高中入学新生（students enrolled in high schools）起，全面启动高考综合改革（reform），2020年进入考试、招生录取环节的实施阶段。
高校将统一高考成绩、普通高中学业水平等级性考试成绩（student performance on high school academic tests）作为本科录取的基本依据。
