In the past, there was a man who had a large appetite.
从前，有个人饭量很大。
When he ate, he devoured ravenously.
吃起饭来，狼吞虎咽。
Once he wasn't careful enough so that a fishbone got stuck in his throat.
一次，他不留神，骨头硬在喉咙里。
The food was blocked in his esophagus, and he could neither swallow nor vomit.
食物被堵塞在食道里，想咽咽不下，想吐吐不出。
So he called a physician, but the physician could do nothing.
于是，他请来医生，医生也没有办法。
The people around looked at him in anxiety.
周围的人看着他，干着急。
Finally, as he couldn't breathe, he died of choking.
最后，他因透不过气来而活活噎死了。
Afterwards, someone went so far as to issue a ban:
事后，有人居然下了一道禁令:
Eating is forbidden as from today for the reason that no one will be choked to death if people give up eating.
从今天起，天下禁止吃饭。理由是:不吃饭，就不会噎死人。
