Ding Ning became the new Grand Slam winner of table tennis here on Wednesday after winning in full sets over defending champion Li Xiaoxia in an all-Chinese women's singles final in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
在周三进行的2016年里约奥运会女子乒乓球单打决赛中，丁宁击败了中国队的队友、奥运卫冕冠军李晓霞，成为了新的大满贯得主。
The 26-year-old top seed held well her nerve to win over her teammate 11-9, 5-11, 14-12, 9-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7.
这位26岁的赛事头号种子选手保持了冷静，以11比9、5比11、14比12、9比11、8比11、11比7、11比7的比分，苦战七局击败了自己的队友。
"I'm happy with the result and have also enjoyed the process," said Ding at a post-match press conference.
在赛后新闻发布会上，丁宁说道：“我对这一结果很高兴，并且享受整个过程。”
It was the first time in the sport's 28-year history since the game was introduced to the 1988 Seoul Games that the same two players entered a singles final in back-to-back Olympic Games.
这是这项运动自1988年引入到首尔奥运会后，第一次出现两位相同的选手在连续两届奥运会中在决赛相遇。
Four years ago in London, Ding lost to Li after being deducted three points by Italian umpire Paola Bongelli. The twice world champion, however, declined to call it a revenge.
四年前的伦敦，丁宁在被意大利裁判葆拉·邦姬妮扣掉三分之后，输给了李晓霞。不过这位两届世界冠军得主却拒绝将本次比赛称为复仇之战。
"Li Xiaoxia is my teammate and friend. I've learned a lot from her," she said. "After the failure in London 2012, I did thorough reflection and confirmed that I did want to continue fighting."
她说：“李晓霞是我的队友，也是我的朋友。我从她身上学到了很多。在2012年伦敦奥运失利之后，我做了彻底的反思，并且确定了自己会继续战斗下去。”
Facing an opponent as tough as the 28-year-old Li, Ding had not a second on court relaxed but kept cool head when it came up to decisions until she crouched in court and burst into tears after sealing the victory.
面对像28岁的李晓霞这样强大的对手，丁宁在场上没有过一秒钟的放松，在比赛来到关键时刻头脑保持住了冷静，直到锁定胜局后蹲在场地上痛哭流涕。
"I think I've been more seasoned right now than four years ago," Ding said. "After making through to the final, I said to myself that I was on my way to realizing my dream and should devote everything I have for it."
丁宁说道：“相比四年前，我觉得自己现在经验更丰富。在进入决赛之后，我对自己说，我在实现梦想的路上，为了梦想我会发挥出我的一切。”
