如同许多在德国世界大战战后时期出生的年轻人，Klaus Meine和Rudolf Schenker受到美国士兵所听的音乐和生活方式所影响，尤其是把泡泡糖、牛仔裤、皮夹克，以及最重要的摇滚乐带进德国的猫王。很快地，他们两人都希望能拾起吉他，走入聚光灯下。之后，披头士合唱团在六零年代早期开启了节奏感强烈的乐派。幸运地，Meine和Schenker的父母包容力强，于是他们在六零年代中期时，就组了自己的乐团并站上舞台。Schenker于1965年在德国汉诺威成立了Scorpions。这时，他的弟弟Michael和后来成为团员的Matthias Jabs也深受节奏感强的音乐以及逐渐壮大的摇滚文化影响。吉他手和词曲创作者Rudolf Schenker的偶像是The Yardbirds、Pretty Things和Spooky Tooth，这些喜爱吉他刷弦的乐团当时的音乐已相当强劲。
