这首歌是Rupert Holmes在八十年代的早期写的。当时在美国最最时髦的东西，一个是鸡尾酒The Pina Colada，另一个就是personal ads。这首歌里讲了一对夫妻，因为相互缺乏了解和沟通，于是彼此厌倦了。然后是相互不诚实，利用"个人广告"来找寻情人的故事。

I didn't think about my lady,

I know that sounds kind of mean.
