Introductions (介   绍)


1.    Allow me to introduce my good friend, Stone.
请允许我介绍一下我的朋友,斯通。
2.    It's a privilege to meet you; I'd like to introduce myself.
见到你很荣幸,我来自我介绍一下。
3.    A: Mary, this’s Stone's brother, Tim.
玛丽,这是斯通的弟弟,蒂姆。
B: I've heard so much about you. Glad to meet you.
久仰大名。见到你很高兴。
A: The pleasure is mine.
很高兴见到你。
4.    Sorry, I couldn't help overhearing, did you mention something about Chinese food ?
对不起,我无意中听见你们的谈话,你们是不是谈到中国菜?

Invitations (邀   请)

1.    Like to come for a chat?
想来聊聊吗?
2.    Would you like to join me for a coffee?
想跟我一起喝杯咖啡吗?
3. A: What about eating out tonight?
今天出去吃好吗?
B: OK, let's go Dutch.
好的,我们各付各的。
A: No, it's on me. (It’s my treat.)
不,今天我请客。
4.If you could manage, we'd like to invite you to come to our speech contest as a judge on Thursday afternoon.
如果你能安排的话,我们想邀请你当星期四下午演讲的评判。

[1] Hi, this is Stone. I graduated from Shanghai University and majored in International Trade.
大家好,我是世通。我毕业于上海大学国际贸易系。
[2] I was once a poor student of English, and it was my biggest headache and troublemaker. I got sick and tired of learning boring grammar rules and lifeless word.
我曾经是一名英文很差的学生,英语让我头痛让我难堪。我厌倦了学习无聊的语法规则和没有生命的单词。

B: Carl, you know, I've heard a lot about you.
A: Really? I hope it's not anything bad about me.
B: Not at all. You are very popular.
2. First come , first served.
A: Lisa, they are having a clearance sale at the Eastern Shopping Center.   
B: Maybe I should go there next week.                          
A: That would be too late. The sale is for three days only.
B: Really? I don't want to miss it.
A: Me, neither. Let's g
