Marvellous!

It is very difficult to please my father with a good meal. No matter my mother cooks, his only remark is "Dogs' food". Last Friday, before my father came home, my mother had been talking on the phone for such a long time that she didn't have time to prepare the dinner. "I am starving. Can I have dinner now?" my father shouted as he stepped into the living room. In haste my mother made a dinner with some canned dogs' food which was the only eatable thing left. Having had a mouthful of the food, my father said,

"Marvellous!"

My mother quickly rushed back to the kitchen and burst into laughter before blaming herself.
