About 1200 AD, most Europeans were Christians.
大约一千二百年前，绝大部分欧洲人是基督教徒。
So, Europeans built many churches.

This style of Architecture is called the gothic style.

Also, European people were very rich at that time.

So, they spend a lot of money on building magnificent churches

Therefore, churches in the gothic style are very huge and beautiful.

Later, the gothic style became famous, so people built other buildings in the gothic style too.
