"Get up, there!" said Billy Beaver to the fox.
“我们往那儿走。”海狸比利对狐狸说。
Away they went, and the rabbit began to walk down the hot, bumpy road.
他们走了，兔子也开始在炙热而颠簸的路上走了起来。
He walked just behind the cart.
他就跟在车子后面。
After a while the tired old rabbit spoke to Billy Beaver.
不一会儿，这只疲惫的老兔子对海狸比利说话了。
"What did you say, Rabbit?” asked Billy. "I said — let me get in and try again."
“兔子，你说什么？”比利问道。“我说，让我上车再坐一次。”
"Whoa!" said Billy Beaver. He put one foot behind his ear and thought a little while.
“停车！”海狸比利说道。他把一只脚搭在了耳朵后面，考虑了一会儿。
Then he said, "All right. I will let you try again. Get in."
然后他说：“好吧，再让你坐一次。上来吧。”
Rabbit got in, but at first he did not say anything.
兔子上了车，一开始他一言不发。
After a long time he said something very soft and low.
过了很长一段时间后，他又嘀咕起来了。
Billy Beaver turned around and looked at him.
海狸比利转过身来，看着他。
"Now you are talking in a low voice again," he said. "What did you say?" "Oh, nothing,"
“你又开始嘀咕了，”他说，“你说什么了？”“哦，没什么。”
"WHAT DID YOU SAY? I heard you say something just now!"
“你——说——了——什——么？我刚才听到你说了！”
"I said — hot sun, hard road, tired old bunny feet. Glad to ride."
“我说太阳真毒，路面真硬，老兔子的脚真累，坐车真好。”
"Oh," said Billy Beaver." That is what you said, is it? Now say one thing more." "What?"
“哦，”海狸比利说，“那是你刚才说的话，是吗？再说说其他的吧。”“说什么呢？”
"I am not going to tell you. Think it over, Rabbit. Think it over,” said Billy.
“我不会告诉你。兔子，你再想想，再想想。”比利说。
"Oh," said Rabbit. "All right. I will think it over."
“哦，”兔子说，“好吧，我再想想。”
They rode on and on. And the tired old rabbit thought and thought.
他们继续坐着车走啊走，走啊走。疲惫的老兔子则想啊想，想啊想。
After a long time he said something very soft and low.
过了很长一段时间，他又嘀咕了一句话。
"What did you say, Rabbit?" asked Billy. "Glad to ride, said Rabbit. "THANK YOU."
“兔子，你刚才说了什么？”比利问。“坐车真好，”兔子说，“谢谢你！”
"That is polite," said Billy Beaver. "Now I will say something. YOU ARE WELCOME, RABBIT." "Oh," said Rabbit.
“你真有礼貌，”海狸比利说，“现在我也要说点儿什么了。兔子，不用客气！”“嗯！”兔子说。
Then Billy Beaver and the tired old rabbit rode on to Animal-town.
然后，海狸比利和这只疲惫的老兔子便坐车前往动物小镇了。
