Beowulf told of the strange animals that made their homes in that dark lake.

"But I touched nothing of the treasure.

At these words the Danes shouted and cheered in their love for this brave hero.

"0 Beowulf" said the king, "you are a true warrior.

Then Hrothgar commanded that a feast be prepared.

Beowulf sat at the king's right hand, and all were happy.

Now everyone could enter the beautiful hall without fear.

Beowulf's work in the land of the Danes was now done, and he was eager to return home.
贝奥武夫在丹麦的任务经完成，他盼望回到家乡。
Calling his warriors, he went with them to the king to say farewell, and to thank him for the rich gifts he had given them.
他叫来了他的勇士一起去见国王，向国王告别，并感谢国王送给他们丰厚的礼物。
"If ever again I can help you, my lord, I will come to you with joy," said Beowulf.
贝奥武夫说：“亲爱的国王，如果有需要我的地方，我会很开心帮助你们。”
The old king thanked Beowulf and gave him more beautiful gifts than before.
