In another great poem, the Odyssey, Homer tells of the wanderings and adventures of the Greek chief, Ulysses,
在另外一篇著名史诗《奥德赛》中，荷马讲述了希腊酋长尤利西斯的漫游和冒险，
during his return from the Trojan war. This poem is so famous and so widely known that the word Odyssey has come to mean wanderings.
时间是他从特洛伊战争回家的路上，这首诗家喻户晓，广为皆知，以至于“奥德赛”这几个字也就成为了“漫游”的意思。
THE GIANT POLYPHEMUS

When the great city of Troy was taken, the chiefs who had fought against it set sail for their homes. But the gods were angry,

for the Greeks had been haughty and cruel in the day of their victory.

Then Ulysses and his companions journeyed safely on till they came to the southern shore of Greece;

but contrary currents prevented their sailing around the point, and the north wind blew so fiercely they were driven ever southward.
