The Shanghai Meteorological center has issued a red level rainstorm alert - its highest warning level. Traffic has been severely affected on many roads.
上海气象中心已经发布暴雨红色警报，该警报为最高级警报。多个交通路段受到严重阻断。
Officials say the city's downtown area along with Minhang, Songjiang and Pudong districts have already seen rainfall of more than 100 milimeters. This is the first red level alert since 2009.
官方表示上海市中心，闵行，松江及浦东地区已经出现超过100毫米的降水量。该次警报为自2009年起的首次红色警报。
Earlier in the day, the Shanghai Meteorological center separately issued yellow and orange level alerts for the rainstorm. The alert was then changed to the highest level at around 5pm.
今天早些时候，上海气象中心分别发布了暴雨黄色与橙色预警。下午5时，该警报升级为最高级。
