They said that. But after they find out how much the party is going to cost,they will be singing a different tune.
他们是这么说的。不过当他们发现聚会开销多少后，肯定会唱反调。
This expression has nothing to do with singing.
这个表达与唱歌无关。
In many dictionaries, the official definition of “to sing a different tune” is “to change the way one talks about something.”
许多字典里，官方定义“改变主意”指，改变方式，与之前谈论的事情相反。
