On the fly
在匆忙中
What’s going on? Yesterday I called in sick to work.
发生什么事了？昨天我打电话请了病假。
And then I ran into my boss at the park.
之后我在公园里碰见了老板。
That’s not good. What did you say?
这可不太好办。你怎么说的？
I though of an excuse on the fly.
我赶忙想了个理由。
I told her that my cat had graduated from cat school and I had to go support him.
我告诉她我的猫刚从猫校毕业，我得去帮他。
Cat school? That was your excuse? Cat school, Anna? Really?
猫校？这就是你的理由？猫校。安娜，你认真的吗？
When you do something “on the fly”, you do it quickly and without any preparation.
当你做一些事情的时候是“on the fly”的状态，就是你做的很快，没做任何准备。
This expression can also mean to get something done while something else is happening --
这句表达也可以意为某件事刚做完，其他事又出现了——
without thinking very much about either activity.
于是对每件事都没做过多思考。
