FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter said his organization is firmly against boycotting the Olympics and he believed that the Games will be a success.
"FIFA's stand and FIFA's position in all questions of a boycott has always been the same: A boycott will never add anything and especially not to the sport."
Blatter expressed disappointment over the boycotting actions. He said various delegations under FIFA would attend the Olympic football competition in Beijing as scheduled.
"I'm now working 33 years in FIFA. Such questions always came up before we started the competitions. And all the competitions and all the Olympic Games I've witnessed so far, they're all huge successes. And I'm sure there would also be a huge success for Beijing 2008."
The FIFA president was in Beijing on Sunday, attending the draw for the Olympic football tournament.
It's believed that both the Chinese men and women's football teams have been drawn in favorable groups. The men's team was grouped with Brazil, New Zealand and Belgium, while the women's team saw itself grouped with Sweden, Canada and Argentina.
