He's unfolded on this popular trail on Horsetooth mountain, an hour outside Denver. A jogger attacked from behind by a mountain lion, smaller than a full-grown 180 pound adult like this one. The juvenile lion began to bite and claw into the man's face, legs, arms and back. I think it's pretty crazy.
Suffering serious injuries with his bare hands, authorities say the victim choked the mountain lion to death. It was just him and the mountain lion and it was just a matter of survival for him at that point. Wildlife officers say the victim did everything right since he couldn't scare the mountain lion away. While under attack fighting back was his only option. While mountain lion attacks are rare surviving one like this is even more remarkable.
