一.trouble：n. 困难，烦恼，麻烦 v. 使烦恼，麻烦，苦恼，费神
【词义辨析】
bother，disturb，trouble，annoy，irritate，vex
bother: 指使人烦恼而引起的紧张不安或感到不耐烦。
disturb: 较正式用词，多用被动态。指扰乱，使人不能平静或妨碍别人工作、思维或正常秩序，是程度较深的烦恼。
trouble: 指给人在行动上带来不便或在身心上造成痛苦。
annoy: 强调因被迫忍受令人不快、讨厌的事而失去平静或耐心，多指一时的打扰或恼怒。
irritate: 语气比annoy强得多，指激怒，使发怒，多指一种短时间的反应。
vex: 侧重指因不断的干扰而引起的烦恼，有时含激怒的意味。
【例句用法】
1.I'm sorry to have to put you to so much trouble.
很抱歉，给您添了这麽多麻烦。
2.Don't mention my name or you'll get me into trouble.
别提我的名字，免得给我惹麻烦。
3.I find getting up early a great trouble.
我觉得早起床可不容易。
4.My car's got engine trouble.
我的汽车发动机出毛病了。
5.If I say no, the boss will only make trouble for me.
假若我说个不字，老板只会找我的麻烦。
二.before：conj. 在 ... 以前 pref. 在 ... 以前，在..前面 adv. 以前，以往，之前
【词语用法】
1.Before同ago的比较：
表示“早于现在多少时间前”，用ago。
He started five minutes ago.
表示“早于过去某时多少时间前”，通常用before 。
He told me he had seen her a few minutes before.
英美人也有用ago，觉得语气比较生动。
表示“早于将来某时多少时间前”，也用before。
When you call at the shop again this afternoon, you may be told that the book has been sold only a few minutes before.
表示“早于任何某时（不是现在、过去或将来的某时）多少时间前”，仍用before。
He often forgets what he has heard only a few minutes before.
表示“从现在说到以前，不特指若干时间”时，用before。
We (have) met them many times before.
在倒数回以前，表示“一些事情已发生了多久”时，可用before。
When I went back to the town that I had left eight years before, everything was different.
2.before与不同介词搭配时，句子意思有差异。
All day, as three days before, we planted trees.
同三天前一样，我们一整天都在种树。
All day, as for three days before, we planted trees.
同以前的三天一样，我们一整天都在种树。
3.before既可作副词，也可作介词，如在three hours before中为副词。在before three o'clock中为介词，但要注意before不能在表示“一段时间”的词前作介词，不能说before a month，可说a month ago；
4.before long，属于习语，表示“不久以后”，同before a long time has passed意思一样。before very long也指“不久以后”，但比before long时间短；
5.要注意before的表达方式，不能说before five minutes of the accident，而是five minutes before the accident。其他表达方式如下：
A few minutes before the accident she called on me.
（不含the/for）
During the few minutes before the accident she had a chat with me.
（含the）
For a few minutes before the accident she had a chat with me.
（含for）
6.before作连接词，指“……以前”时，后接到从句中的动词一般不能用将来时。如不可以说He will arrive before she will start，可以说He will arrive before she starts。
若是表示“长久以后才会发生的事”时，可用将来时。
It will not be long before they come back.
他们很快就回来了。
【错句举例与错句分析】
错句：It is better to check the oil before to start the car.
纠正：It is better to check the oil before starting the car.
翻译：在发动车子前最好检查下汽油。
分析：before做介词时，后动词用动名词形式。
