A. A Visit to Dalian
Chris Hudson is an American. Now he is having a conversation with FuHao, a local person in Dalian.
Chris Hudson: Excuse me. Do you live here?
Fu Hao: Yes, I've lived in Dalian all my life. My name is Fu Hao. How do you do?
Chris Hudson: Hi, I'm Chris Hudson from America. I'm a mechanical engineer. I am on my way to Qingdao on business.
Fu Hao: How long are you staying in Dalian?
Chris Hudson: Just a day. What can I see here in twenty-four hours?
Fu Hao: Well, most tourists want to visit Golden Stone Beach.
Chris Hudson: What's Gold Stone Beach?
Fu Hao: Well, Golden Stone Beach is a beautiful scenic spot in the north of Dalian, where the amazing reef and rare earth formations are said to be the devils' and gods' work.
Chris Hudson: Then I must go and visit it.
B. Mr. and Mrs. Wright In Dalian
Mr. and Mrs. Wright are visiting Dalian. Now Mrs. Wright is having a conversation with the guide.
Guide: Here we are. This is Lantian Hotel.
Mrs. Wright: Oh! What a lovely place! How far is it from here to the beach?
Guide: Only about a ten-minute walk.
Mrs. Wright: Good. It's quite warm today. What is the temperature here in the hottest month of the year?
Guide: About 28°C.
Mrs. Wright: That would be quite comfortable then.
Guide: Look, Mrs. Wright. That is Xinghai Park.
Mrs. Wright: Oh, yes. It looks marvelous!
