Forget last minute beauty treatments, stars start to prepare for their time on the Oscar red carpet three months before the big event.
In order to get a flawless complexion for high def television, major skin prep is done well before any thoughts of hair and make up.
Celebrity skin care expert and make up artist Tracy Davis - who works with names like Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Sandra Bullock - explains how it works.
"Normally clients, what they will do typically is go three months prior to the awards shows (in prepping their skin). What seems to happen is that sometimes they go into invasive products and it's methods, and what have you Botox, Restylane, and all of that. Nothing wrong with that. However, I think it is more beneficial to have a skin care regiment that they can use throughout their life. So that there is something that they can follow so that they are always red carpet ready."
Best actress Oscar-nominee Sandra Bullock, who is 45 years old and wears minimal make up, is a perfect example of a star who likes to use more natural ranges, says Davis:
"We love Sandra, and Decleor, Sandra loves this product. Demi Moore uses the Carita product. We have Brooke Shields using the Carita product. I think more and more celebrities and women a like are becoming more aware that natural is really the way to go. And their skin looks amazing... And Meryl Streep, she is a doll. She uses also the Carita products. What they found is that by using those products, it really, it is really increasing their skins elasticity. It is giving them that youthful look. When you see them live, they have beautiful skin."

"The Oscar trend this season is all about ethereal feminine beauty. It is the softer side of sexy. Maybe a more bold lip, but a twist on the traditional red lip. A softer more metallic eye. It is all about lips and lashes."
