今天我们来看第一大题的第三小题。中文是每次考试来临时，约翰就变成了夜猫子。请大家看下面的题目。John becomes a night owl the examination . 这里有4个空，需要填写的单词依次如下：every， time，is，coming。完整句子为John becomes a night owl every time the examination is coming.

【要点提示】
这道题有2个考点。第一个考点是every time这个短语作为连词的用法。第二个考点是一般进行时表示将来时的用法。下面我们就逐一来看。

【要点解析】
我们都知道every time是always，all the time(每次；总是）的意思，作为这个意思解时，它是副词短语。在句子中作时间状语，起到加强语气的作用。例如：Every time we needn't trick them. 我们每次都不必搞恶作剧。

Every time作为副词短语时，它还有without exception，without the slightest hesitation （毫无意外地，毫不犹豫地）的意思。我们来看一个对话。
A: Will you do it for her. （你会为她做事吗？）
B: Every time. （当然。）

Every time作为连词的话，就如同the moment, the minute, the second，the instant, the day, the year, the next time，each time，the last time等短语一样引导时间状语从句, 意为whenever（每当；每逢）的意思。我们来看2个例句。Grandma prepares a big dinner for us every time we visit her house. 我们每次去看望奶奶，她都会准备一顿丰盛的晚餐。I think of the happy days we spent together every time I see these photos. 每次我看到这些照片，我都会想起我们在一起度过的美好时光。

接下来，我们来学学以上提到表示时间的副词短语做连词用引导状语从句的这些短语。
1. the moment/the instant/ the second 一......就
The moment I saw him, I will hit the ceiling.
我一见到他，就会勃然大怒。
注解：俚语hit the ceiling是very very angry的意思。
He started the instant he heard the report.
他一听到报告就动身了。
I sent you the news the second I heard it .
我一听到这个消息就让人给你送去了。
2. the day ......的那天
The day he took part in the compitition, he was not feeling well.
他参加比赛的那天，身体不大舒服。
3. the year ......的那年
He left Europe the year that war broke out.
在那场战争爆发的那一年他离开了欧洲。
注解：Break out是爆发的意思。
4. the next time 再次......的时候
The next time I saw her she was working in London.
我再次看到她的时候她正在伦敦工作。
5. each time 每次；每当 ；每逢
Each time he came to town he would visit our school.
他每次进城都要到我们学校看一下。
6. the last time ......的上次
He looked much worried the last time I saw him.
我上次见到他的时候他满脸愁容。

第二、用现在进行时表示将来时体现在句中every time examination后面填写的is coming。现在进行时作为表“将来时”的这个功能，有"意图"、"打算"、"安排"的意思。常用的词有两类，一类是实义动词。如：come, go, start, arrive, leave, stay等。另一类是渐变动词，也就是表示变化的系动词。如：get, run, grow, become, begin，turn。还有一个特殊的实义动词是die。我们来看几个例句。1. Are you staying with us this weekend? 这周打算和我们一起度周末吗? 2. Don't shout at me, I am leaving soon. 不要再朝我吼了，我打算马上走了。3. He is dying because he has caught a cancer. 他患上癌症，即将死去。
