一.contact：n. 接触，联系，熟人 v. (与)联系，(与)接触 adj. 接触的
【词义辨析】
contact, touch,
contact: 强调紧密接触的两个物体之间的相互关系。也可用作比喻。
touch: 指具体意义“接触”时，强调动作；表抽象意义时，侧重“联系”。
meet, encounter, confront, face, contact,
meet: 普通用词，本义指双方或多方从不同方向或相反方向作相对运动，最终相碰(遇)。
encounter: 通常指遇到困难或挫折，也指偶然或意外地相遇。
confront: 不可避免地，面对面地相遇，也指敢于正视困难或问题。
face: 侧重双方静止地面对面，或指充满勇气、信心和决心去正视人或事。
contact: 多指通过书信、电话或直接会面和别人联系，口语用词。
【词语用法】
1.contact作名词时，既可作单数，也可作复数。英国人习惯用其单数形式，而美国人则习惯用其复数形式，表示“联系”的意思。
I have had many contacts with my friends.
2.contact作动词时，指“与……联系”。
During my stay in the city I contacted several teachers.
3.表示“开始与某人接触”时，可以用以下来两种表达方式：come into contact with和come in contact with。前者比后者使用更频繁；
4.make contact with 表示“与某人进行接触”；
5.contact的几个注意点：
有时可指“被联系的人”。
I have got this information from one of my contacts, who used to live overseas.
contact还常有“跟（无线电台）通信”或“跟……交战”的意思。
【错句举例与错句分析】
错句：The painter lived more than a decade in Europe, where he could have contact with other cubists.
纠正：The painter lived more than a decade in Europe, where he could be in contact with other cubists.
翻译：这个画家在欧洲，这个可以同其他立体派画家交流交往的地方生活十几年了。
分析：表示“与人接触”时，常用 be in contact with。
【例句用法】
1.The switches close the contacts and complete the circuit.
这些开关可使接触器接通电流形成回路。
2.I have a useful contact in New York.
我在纽约有个有用的人可以联系。
3.I finally made contact with her in Paris.
我终于在巴黎同她取得了联系。
4.I've got a useful contact in the post office.
我在邮局有熟人。
5.For further information, contact your local agent.
要进一步了解情况，请与本地代理商联系。
二.take：v. 拿，取，执行，需要，接受，理解，修(课程)，花费，吃（喝），认为，搭乘 n. 拿取，取得物
【词语用法】
1.take不可指“拿来”或“取来”，因此Please take your pen with you when you come tomorrow.该句是错误的，应将take改成bring；
2.take可指“买”。
I will take this pen.
我要买这支笔。
注意，表示“买”时，并不可以都是take。不可说I went into the shop to take a pen，要用buy；
3.用在指房屋的词的前时，take通常指“租赁”。
They have taken the cottage for the winter.
他们为了过冬租赁个小屋。
4.在美国英语中，take in指“参观”或“观看”。
He has taken in several points of interest during the last week.
上周他参观了不少名胜古迹。
5.take over指“接收”或“接管”时，可单用。
When will the new manager take over?
新的管理者什么时候接管？
6.英国人常用take ... in to dinner来表示“伴（女子）入席”，而美国人则习惯用take ... out to dinner；
7.take(n) to或took to是习惯用语，指“开始（后成为习惯)”。
He has taken to this good habit.
他开始养成这个好习惯。
【错句举例与错句分析】
错句：The government has taken action to suspend the Royal Mail's monopoly on delivering letters costing less than ￡ 1 because of the strike currently being taken by postal workers.
纠正：The government has taken action to suspend the Royal Mail's monopoly on delivering letters costing less than ￡ 1 because of the current strike by postal workers.
翻译：由于邮局工人的罢工，皇家邮政垄断了邮递信件的市场，成本不超过一英镑。政府已对这一现象采取了行动去暂停制止。
分析：没有take a strike这样的搭配用法。
【例句用法】
1.The machine takes its name from its inventor.
这机器的名字来自其发明者。
2.I passed him the rope and he took it.
我递给他绳子，他接住了。
