The Olympic torch relay has ended in Jiayuguan city, the second leg of its run in northwest China's Gansu Province.
Yu Haiyan, director of a local iron and steel company, started the 14-kilometer relay as the first torchbearer.
"I am sure the Olympic spirit will help boost the development of our city. I wish the Beijing Olympics a great success."
Hao Yuan, the Deputy Governor of Gansu, and Olympic speed skating champion Yang Yang were among the 208 torchbearers.
The torch relay in the city finished as the cauldron was lit atop Jiayu Pass at the west end of the Great Wall of China.
The pass is more than 600 years old and was one of the key routes along the ancient Silk Road.
The flame now travels to Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu.
