The International Olympic Committee members have met in Beijing ahead of the Beijing Games.
At the opening of the executive board meeting, IOC president Jacques Rogge thanked Chinese vice-president Xi Jinping for all the organizing efforts.
"Thanks for this, and particularly for your great hospitality. Thank you very much. I believe we will have a very good executive board meeting and definitely also very good games."
Canadian IOC official Adam Mercereaux praised the facilities and other efforts of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games.
"The venues are very good. BOCOG has done a very good job of following the guidelines that the IOC has put forth and following the rules in the Olympic Charter. Our goal is just to make sure that all of our sponsorship rights are protected, and that is BOCOG's goal as well. So far, things look very good."
IOC members are scheduled to discuss a number of issues related to the upcoming Olympics, including anti-doping, weather conditions and whether some controversial athletes can take part in the Games.
