US President Barack Obama says he is confident Republicans would come around to support the final version of his economic recovery legislation.
He expects some Senate Republicans to vote for the scheme when it heads to them this week.
"The important thing is getting the thing passed, and I've done extraordinary outreach, I think, to Republicans because they have some good ideas, and I want to make sure those ideas are incorporated. I am confident that by the time we actually have the final package on the floor, which we are going to see substantial support."
He also expressed confidence in getting the US economy back on track.
Obama's 819 billion dollar bill aims to stimulate employment, certain critical economic sectors, and U.S. consumer spending.
It passed the US House last week without a single Republican vote.
