[-1:23.00]Rock and pop music are becoming more and more similar,
[-1:24.00]but there are still some important differences.
[-1:25.00]Most pop singers make music their career.
[-1:26.00]They use music to become rich and famous,
[-1:27.00]and they sing songs that will be liked by everybody.
[-1:28.00]Rock singers,on the other hand,
[-1:29.00]make music their life.
[-1:30.00]They play music to satisfy their inner desire.
[-1:31.00]They do not think how much money they can make from a song;
[-1:32.00]instead,they sing for their emotions and live for music.
[-1:33.00]Pop songs and rock songs are written in different ways.
[-1:34.00]A pop song is written in a"factory"where one person writes the words,
[-1:35.00]someone else the music,and other musicians record it.
[-1:36.00]The singer often knows little about the ideas or feelings behind the song.
[-1:37.00]The process of making rock music,however,is totally different.
[-1:38.00]The singers and musicians are all able to write music and work together in a band
[-1:39.00]When one of them has a strong feeling,
[-1:40.00]he or she expresses it with music and the others help build the song.
[-1:41.00]Because of the different ways of thinking and writing songs,
[-1:42.00]rock and pop songs also tell different stories.
[-1:43.00]Most pop songs tell simple stories about love and are written to entertain people
[-1:44.00]They are popular for a short time,but will soon be forgotten.
[-1:45.00]Rock music,on the other hand,expresses true feelings about society,
[-1:46.00]friendship and even war.
[-1:47.00]Some rock songs are also about love,but the feelings they express are deeper.
[-1:48.00]For example,love in a pop song is either good or bad,
[-1:49.00]but in a rock song it can be both good and bad at the same time.
[-1:50.00]Pop music makes people feel easy and forget about the real world;
[-1:51.00]rock music makes people think about the world and how to make their life better.
[-1:52.00]Rock and pop music are becoming...but there are still some important differences.
