二、文章讲解：
Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard night and day. The airport was built years ago, but for some reason it could not be used then. Last year, however, it came into use. Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes I thinkthis house will be knocked down by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and theyare probably right.

1）drive someone mad 把某人逼疯
例：Working overtime every day drives me crazy. 每天加班把我逼疯了都。
2) 注意slowly 做状语，复习状语的特点。
3) 语法判断

2.I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard night and day.
1) near 在...附近， 近义词next to 紧挨着；
2) pass v. 经过
例：I’m just passing by. 我就是路过（pass by 路过）
例：I’ll take a pass.／I’ll pass. 我就不参加了。
辨析：past (名词，形容词，副词，介词) 就是没有动词

3)情态动词的被动语态
结构：情动动词 ＋ be + done
例：The criminals should be punished.
4)night and day 日日夜夜；
类似表达：24/7
例：711 is open 24/7.
