1. cry out:大声呼喊,大声抱怨
e.g. The wounded man could not forbear to cry out.

2. force oneself to do/on sb.:强迫自己做......,硬着头皮做......,非要做......
e.g. He forced himself to speak to her.

他也不是非要跟他们接近不可。
3. for the best:到达最好的程度
e.g. Our best strategy is to hope for the best but be prepared for something less.

4. laughing stock:笑柄,受人嘲笑者; 笑谈; 笑料
e.g. His constant blunders made him the laughing stock of the whole class.
他总是出错,成了全班的笑柄。
e.g. The truth must never get out. If it did she would be a laughing-stock.
真相一定不能传出去。万一传出去,她会成为笑柄。
e.g. He becomes the laughing stock when his pants split open.

6. cover up:(用…)盖在…上(以保护或隐藏)
Exp. If you cover something or someone up, you put something over them in order to protect or hide them.
e.g. He fell asleep in the front room so I covered him up with a duvet.
他在起居室睡着了,我便给他盖上了羽绒被。
e.g. Cover the baby up carefully when you put her to bed.
