2. intent on sth./doing sth.
坚决的；下决心做某事；
eg. The play starred a well-known retired actress who was intent on a come-back.
该剧由一名志在复出的著名隐退女演员主演。
eg. He's intent on getting promotion, and no one's going to stop him!
他一心一意想得到晋升，谁也劝阻不了他。
3. cut away
切掉；切除；
eg. He cut away the material which he didn't need.
他把不需要的材料剪裁掉了。
eg. We cut away all the dead wood from the tree.
我们把树上的枯枝全都砍去。
4. so long as
只要；
eg. We can arrange everything so long as we have enough time.
只要有足够的时间，我们就能安排一切。
eg. It matters little who does it so long as it is done.
只要事情做了，谁做都行。
5. keep up
跟上；不落后；
eg. Things are changing so fast, it's hard to keep up.
事情变化得太快了，很难跟上形势。
eg. If you cannot keep up, I can walk more slowly.
