Dialogue A
Li Ming:Good morning,Mrs.White.
Mrs.White:Good morning,Miss Li.It's a fine day,isn't it?
Li Ming:Yes,it is.Shall we take a tour to the Summer Palace,Mrs.White?
Mrs.White:All right.I'll put myself completely in your hand.
Li Ming:Thanks.Let's start off now.
Mrs.White:(At the Summer Palace)Oh,what a wonderful place!Could you give me some information about it,Miss Li?
Li Ming:Sure. The Summer Palace is the largest and the best preserved of the imperial gardens in China. It covers an area of 290 hectares, and has halls, pavilions, corridors and bridges almost every-where.
Mrs.White:Oh,that's marvellous! But I'm afraid one dayis not enough to see all the interesting places.
Li Ming:It doesn't matter. We can go up to the Longevity Hill and have a broad view of all the fascinating scenes from there.
Mrs.White:That's very good idea.
Li Ming:Now,we come to the top of the Longevity Hill.Look, that is Kunming Lake.It is man-made and takes up three-fourths of this palace garden.
Mrs.White:What a lovely view!The lake is a picture itself.
Li Ming:So it is Mrs.White, would you feel like having arest in that pavilion?
Mrs.White:Good.
