HK residents show support for new election plan
香港居民支持新的选举计划
Hong Kong residents have shown their support for a new election plan, after the announcement of the constitutional development package details. Many in the Special Administrative Region have asked legislators not to vote against it.
"We know that Carrie Lam released the constitutional development package details today, and we know that a lot of friends and residents in the area support the ‘one person, one vote’ universal suffrage in the election," Vincent Cheng, member of Democratic Alliance For The Betterment And Progress Of Hong Kong, said.
"We came here because we really hope for harmony in the community and the 'one person one vote' universal suffrage to push forward democracy," A Hong Kong resident said.
"We sincerely request members not to go against the will of most residents. If the plan fails to pass due to some opposition, then the whole of Hong Kong loses," Low Kam-Yam with HK Commerce And Industry Associations said.
