The intense competition in today's society urges people to attach more importance to the education of their children in order to guarantee the prospects of their children. One of their concerns is how to allocate the time of study and vocation. Some prefer 9-month study and 3-month break, while others favor 3-month study and 1-month break. In my view, the arrangement of more frequent break time is better.

First of all, 3-month study followed by 1-month break can prompt students' academic performance. Children are such kind of creatures that have a limited amount of patience and will feel boring after a long period of studying. It can reasonably infer that 9-month study will definitely diminish their interest in studying, which makes them concentrate less on class. On the contrary, 3-month study plus 1-month break allows them to rest in a more balanced way, making them more energetic to face every approaching semester. What’ s more, the frequent breaks can let students reflect more often on what they have learned, introspect what their deficiencies are, and prepare in advance for the knowledge that will come in the next study period.

Second, shorter semester and more frequent break is salutary to students’ mental fitness. As is substantiated by many researches, long period of studying will increase students' sense of anxiety and restlessness. Besides, students today already have much more stress and pressure due to the ever-growing competitive social ambiance. Long studying period can only aggravate children's mental burden. In contrast, when having a vocation more frequently, the students can not just relax their bodies, but also their mind, for in the vocation they can temporarily and moderately drop their study and release their stress. Only with a health mental state can children performs well on study.

Finally, such allocation can allow teachers to prepare their lessons and learning materials more comprehensively. On the one hand, teachers will have more energy and time drawing material from various sources. On the other hand, more intervals of studying mean more adjusting of teaching methods and contents. So compared with the 9-month teaching, the 3-month teaching can give teachers more times to timely adjust their courses according to the students’ performances on class and prepare well in the following resting month.

In conclusion, 3-month study plus 1-month break is a better plan for it can improve students’ academic performance, regulate their mood and allow teachers to adjusts their course more timely.
