1. catch up
短语精讲：《柯林斯词典》解释道：If you catch up on friends who you have not seen for some time or on their lives, you talk to them and find out what has happened in their lives since you last talked together. 可译为：叙旧，了解近况。剧情中，是Daniel问Betty是不是找他和他的新助理通过吃饭聊她自己与男友Matt的事情。台词中说到的是catch us up on Matt with us，意思是和我们聊聊Matt的事情。
拓展范例：The ladies spent some time catching up on each other's health and families.
女士们花了点时间叙旧，聊了聊彼此的健康和家庭状况。
She plans to return to Dublin to catch up with the relatives she has not seen since she married.

2. get back together
短语精讲：剧情中洛丽塔问到Betty是否和Matt的恋人关系恢复，他们两人重归于好，用到get back together。Get back意思就是回到（某种状态），together是“一起”的意思，get back together在这里可以理解为：恢复友好关系，重归于好。

第四、实用口语
1 询问对方介意什么事情，可以套用下面这个句型：

2 表示自己明白对方的意思和要求，可以这样说：
You get it.
源于台词：Waiter: You got it.
3 询问对方对某事或某物或者是做某事感觉如何，可以套用下面这个句型：
How does sb. feel about something (or doing something).
源于台词：Betty...how do you feel about being mine this time?
4 你感到某人正在走你的路，重复着你的工作或者是生活情况，可以这么说：
Sb is the new me.
