Russian pop star Vitas has performed an emotional song for the new Chinese movie "Mulan", which is currently being screened across China.

In the English-language song entitled "Beneath the Glory", Vitas belts out melancholy lyrics in an infectious manner of optimism.

The film "Mulan" is based on an ancient Chinese fairy tale about a heroine named Mulan who disguises herself as a man in order to replace her ailing father in the army.

Vitas sings, "While sacrifices must be made, I will not break. I'll find my way."

Vitas, 28, is favorably called the "prince of dolphin sounds" by his Chinese fans, extolling his unusual ability to hit high notes.

In addition to contributing his voice, Vitas also makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

"Mulan", starring Chinese actress Zhao Wei as the title character, opened in Chinese theaters on November 27.
