We've been exploring commonly confused vowel sounds- /倒e/、/a/、/ao/ and /ou/.

Today, let's pay special attention to the /倒e/ vowel sound, sometimes called the schwa.

If you want to improve your American accent, this is a good sound to spend time studying.

The reason is because in English, unstressed vowels are pronounced as schwa.

This means the schwa is the most frequently occurring vowel sound in English.

The /倒e/ sound can be difficult for English learners, because it does not exist in some other languages.

So let's practice with a few sentences.

For this exercise, you will need a mobile phone computer or some other way to record your voice.
