Sea turtle, or hai gui, is a term used to praise overseas students bringing back advanced technologies from abroad to China. There are five waves in which sea turtles have returned in history. Now, we are experiencing the fifth one. In this wave, sea turtles are linking China's economy to the world. They have founded technology firms such as Baidu. The majority of them have become senior managers in branch offices in China of multinational corporations. They are helping China to go to the world in business, politics, and popular culture.
