DPRK: Recent missile launches part of normal training
朝鲜称发射导弹属正常训练
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea says recent short-range missile launches were part of normal training within its own territory.
A spokesman for the Korean People’s Army dismissed U.S. allegations that the DPRK provoked tensions on the Korean peninsula, and warned Washington not to use the missile launches as an excuse.
The KPA has launched a number of missiles since February 21. The latest, on Tuesday, saw seven short-range projectiles being fired into the sea. South Korea’s Defense Ministry on Monday said the DPRK was seeking to raise tensions by firing missiles just as South Korea and the US are conducting their annual military drills.
The two allies started the "Key Resolve" and "Foal Eagle" exercises on February 24th, despite the DPRK’s demand for a delay or cancellation of the drills.
