G7财长央行行长在德国会晤
The G7 finance ministers and central bankers have started their three-day meeting in the eastern German city of Dresden. A sombre ceremony was held in the city's famous church.
Host Germany has given the meeting in Dresden the heading "Towards a Dynamic Global Economy. German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble urged the G7 members to strengthen global cooperation in his welcoming remarks.
"We have achieved a lot. We have to keep working together to improve our framework. We need to make the instruments of global cooperation even stronger," he said.
"The world is looking for new form of governments, that compliments the nation's state system and the shortcomings of the systems. No nation-state can solve the major problems and challenges in our globally interdependent world on its own."
The participants in the three-day meeting that started Wednesday will talk about how to revive stuttering global growth and China's increasing economic influence.
The Greek crisis is not on the official agenda but it will be discussed on the sidelines. The United States is likely to use the talks to press Europe to reach a funding-for-reforms deal with Greece. U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said he feared a miscalculation could lead to a new crisis that could have consequences for the wider world.
