Woman dies saving son in escalator fall

A mother died while pushing her young son to safety after they fell into a moving escalator at a shopping mall in central China's Hubei Province Sunday morning.
Surveillance video shows that the 30-year-old woman was near the top of an escalator with her son at a shopping mall in Jingzhou when a floor plate collapsed and the two fell.
The woman managed to push her son forward before she slipped into the escalator and a mall employee pulled the boy to safety. Local authorities are investigating the death.
