Venues for 2022 Winter Olympics
北京获得2022冬奥会举办权
If China successfully wins the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, the ice sports events will take place in Beijing, with five venues from the 2008 Summer Games set to be reused. The list includes the National Stadium, better known as the Bird's Nest and site of many great memories from the 2008 Olympics.
The National Aquatics Center, which is also known as the Water Cube due to its unique appearance, and the National Indoor Stadium in the northern part of the city... as well as the Capital Gymnasium and Wukesong Indoor Stadium in the west. In addition, a new venue known as the National Speed Skating Gymnasium will be built at the Olympic Park.
The other events will take place in Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Yanqing, which is located between Beijing and Zhangjiakou, has been designated as the connecting point for the three locations, which will all be served by a new high-speed railway line. It currently takes between three and four hours to travel from Beijing to Zhangjiakou... but the new project should reduce the travel time between Beijing and Yanqing to 20 minutes... and cut the trek between Yanqing and Zhangjiakou to 30 minutes.
