Brent oil price falls to less than $50 a barrel
国际油价跌至每桶50美元以下
The global oil price benchmark, Brent, has fallen to less than US$50 a barrel for the first time in six months. That's in large part due to a sluggish global economy and an oil production boom.
The price on ICE Futures Europe dropped nearly 5.2 percent to US$49.52 a barrel, the largest single-day loss since early July.
Meanwhile, the US crude for September delivery fell more than 4 percent to about US$45.2 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
In the past month, global oil prices have steadily dropped. Future oil price on the New York Exchange decreased 21 percent, while Brent Future price dropped 18 percent.
