State council encourages rural e-commerce

The Chinese government issued a guideline aimed at developing e-commerce in rural areas, to help upgrade the rural economy.

The statement from the State Council said it would promote e-commerce with the growth of the real economy. New policies would favor exemplary cases in e-commerce, encourage college graduates and migrant workers to start businesses in rural areas, lift infrastructure and logistics building in rural areas, and urge financial sectors to use mobile payment and transaction measures in rural areas.
