China will protect the interests of student interns from vocational schools by stipulating the minimum wage during their internships, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced on last Wednesday.
教育部上周三宣布，我国将保护实习中的职业学校学生的权益，制定实习最低工资标准。
The salary for student interns should be no less than 80 percent of the probationary wage for regular employees in the same position, said a circular co-released by the MOE along with another four central departments.
根据教育部联合其他四部门发布的规定，实习学生的工资不得低于相同岗位正式员工试用期工资标准的80%。
The regulation is the first of its kind, aimed at avoiding exploitation of students through cheap labor, the ministry said.

Vocational schools and employers hiring interns are also forbidden from charging deposits of any kind, including salary commissions and management fees, the regulation said.

Student interns should account for no more than 20 percent of total employees in a company, and internships in entertainment venues such as bars, night clubs and bath centers are strictly prohibited, according to the regulation.
在具体岗位顶岗实习的学生人数不高于同类岗位在岗职工总人数的20%。该规定还严禁安排学生到酒吧、夜总会、洗浴中心等营业性娱乐场所实习。
Interns, vocational schools and employers must sign a tripartite agreement before the internship to draw clear lines of responsibility and protect students' rights.
此外，规定还指出，在学生实习之前，职业学校、实习单位、学生应三方签订协议，以此来明确各方的责任，保护学生的权利。
