That's right, there is a common consonant sound used in words about everyday life.

But first, we need to explore certain kinds of consonant sounds.

These sounds are made with the back of the tongue and the soft palate.

The soft palate is the area toward the back of your mouth.

To make these sounds, you need to make sure the back of your tongue touches the back part of your mouth for just a moment.

This causes an obstruction in the airstream.

Consider these two words: goal keep.
