The Beijing Olympic flame has arrived in Indian capital New Delhi for the 11th leg of its global tour.
The torch relay ceremony will be held on Thursday at four o'clock in the afternoon local time. A total of 70 torchbearers will carry the Beijing Olympic flame during its tour in New Delhi.
Indians and Chinese expatriates in the country are well prepared for the arrival of the flame.
Suresh Kalmadi is the chairman of India Olympic Committee.
"We have taken very good security measures. Our security measures are not less than other cities, which I can assure you. We do not want things happened in Paris and London happen again in New Delhi. This is a sacred Olympic torch and its safety is our responsibility."
Leander Paes is one of India's famous tennis player.
"I'd like to welcome the torch relay to our country. I'm very proud to be part of the relay. I must oppose all the ideas to politicize the sports. It's my responsibility to give my country my 100% support to Beijing Olympic Games."
The Olympic torch relay at its tenth-stop in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, wrapped up on Wednesday. Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Yousaf RazaGillani attended the opening and celebration ceremonies.
Musharraf said that he welcomes the Beijing 2008 Olympic torch relay on its 'Journey of Harmony', and he wishes the Beijing Olympic Games the best of luck.
