A man wrongfully jailed for 23 years on murder and arson charges was granted more than 2.75 million yuan ($421,850) in compensation from the State on last Friday, according to the High People's Court of Hainan Province.
据海南省高级人民法院透露，一名男子曾因杀人纵火罪而含冤入狱23年，上周五法院判定，将由国家对其支付不少于275万人民币（约合42万1850美元）的赔偿金。
Chen Man, now 53, was released in February due to insufficient evidence by the High People's Court of Zhejiang Province after a series of appeals going as far as the Supreme People's Court.
今年53岁的陈满因证据不足，在二月份的时候由浙江省高级人民法院宣布无罪释放。在这场判决前，他曾为自己提起多次无罪上诉，甚至曾上诉到最高人民法院。
Chen had served the longest jail term for a wrongful conviction known in China, and also has received the greatest amount of State compensation for wrongful conviction so far, Wang Wanqiong, Chen's attorney, told the Global Times.
陈满的律师王万琼接受《环球时报》采访时表示，陈满是中国目前已知的含冤入狱时间最长的人，同时也是因错判而获得国家赔偿金最多的人。
The 2.75 million yuan compensation contains more than 1.85 million yuan for loss of personal freedom and 900,000 yuan for psychological trauma, the High People's Court of Hainan Province said on its official Weibo account.
据海南省高级人民法院在其官方微博上表示，在这笔总共275万的赔偿金中，包括185万人身自由赔偿金，以及90万的精神创伤补偿。
Wang said that she and Chen accepted the amount though they were still unsatisfied. Chen initially demanded 9.66 million yuan in compensation after he was released.
王万琼表示，尽管她和陈满仍然对判决感到不满意，但他们接受这笔赔偿金。在被无罪释放后，陈满最开始要求得到总共966万的赔偿金。
"Chen and his family have no time to continue the struggle for compensation considering that Chen has lost two decades of his life and his parents are getting older," Wang said.
王万琼说：“陈满和他的家人没有时间来继续要求更多的赔偿金了，因为陈满已经失去了20多年的光阴，而他的父母们都在变老。”
Chen was arrested in 1992 and sentenced to death with a two year reprieve. The local procuratorate deemed the sentence "too light" and called for Chen to be executed. The request was rejected by Hainan High People's Court in 1999, beginning Chen's 16-year appeal ordeal, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
陈满于1992年被捕，随后被判处死刑缓期两年执行。当地检察院还曾经认为对陈满的判决“太轻”，要求对陈满执行死刑。据新华社报道，海南省高级人民法院驳回了这一请求，从那时开始，陈满开始了自己长达16年的无罪上诉。
Chen is one in a string of high-profile exonerations. Nian Bin, who was sentenced to death for four times and spent eight years behind bars for murder, received 1.14 million yuan in compensation in 2015.
