词汇精讲:
1. graze
双语释义:touch or scrape (sth) lightly while passing
[vt.](经过时)触及或轻擦(某物); 磨擦; 蹭
语法用法:~ (sth) (against/along sth)
典型范例:Our bumpers just grazed as we passed.
我们错车时保险杠互相蹭了一下。
A bullet grazed against his cheek.
子弹擦伤了他的面颊。
2. lawsuit
双语释义:a claim or complaint against sb that a person or an organization can make in a court of law
[u.n] 诉讼,控诉
典型范例:As we were poor we lost the lawsuit.
由于我们穷,官司打输了。
The lawsuit was then pending.
那件讼案因而尚未解决。
短语精讲:
1. be terrible about:对......感到很糟糕,对.....感到可怕
例:Let's have coffee together, I feel terrible about what happened.
让我们一起喝杯咖啡,我对所发生的事感到很难受。
I later felt terrible about this. They headed up to find those people and met death instead.
结果是多么可怕:这些警察和消防队员赶去救他们,却和他们死在了一起。
2. mean for:故意企图(某事发生),故意打算让(某事发生)
例:It was an accident. I didn't mean for it to happen.
这真的是意外,我不是故意的。
3. an embarrassment for sb:对某人来说难堪
例:The case is an acute embarrassment for the Government.
这件事情让政府极其为难。
It would be an embarrassment for me to go back home form work in advance.
提早下班我不好意思。
4. be embarrassed about:因......而尴尬,因......而局促不安
例:This can make them nervous or embarrassed about speaking English in public.

7. be excited about:因......而兴奋
