And it shows a history of how trans people have been treated in the media on film television, which I guess is media.

But it's something that I think everyone should see, because it is trans rights 101 and trans struggle 101 for people that are maybe unfamiliar.

Oh, so many of films. But there is a film called Yentle in 1980.

A lot of people might not know, but Yentle is a film.

So question, you started out as a hardcore karaoke singer or started out your youth I guess?

I don't started out. That sounds so weird. But tell me about you and karaoke?

I did...I did host a karaoke night at Lucky Changs in new york city back in the day.

But I don't think I was ever a professional karaoke person. I guess hosting karaoke makes you a professional.

But back in the day, I went to indiana university for two years, my first two years of college.

And the only karaoke bar in town and you had to be 21 or older to get into.

So I went to new york one summer and I got a fake id. And so I got...so I could go to the karaoke bar.

Mind you: I did not drink alcohol. I didn't...i was not drinking underage.

I didn't actually have my first sip of alcohol till I was like 23 or so.

I didn't care about drinking. But I needed to do my karaoke.

And the gag...the gag is that a week before I turned 21, I knew there was a new door guy at the karaoke place.

He was like, what is this id? This is fake. I'm from new york. This isn't a real id. So we confiscated the id.

I was devastated but a week later I went back with my real id, because I turned 21 and I showed it to him.

He was like, oh, happy birthday. And he let me in and I was like, yes.
